Spain: Alibaba Introduces Miravia, A Lifestyle, Fashion, And Food Marketplace

Alibaba launched a new online marketplace of mid and high-range products in Spain. The marketplace, called Miravia, will be dedicated to high-income consumers who want to buy quality goods from the fashion, food, lifestyle, and beauty sectors.

By joining one of the largest consumer markets in Europe with 30 million online buyers, Alibaba continues its expansion. Earlier in 2022, Lazada, another Alibaba marketplace, was introduced in Europe.

According to Alibaba‘s claims, Miravia will enable a simple connection between brands and content creators and consumers, providing a better shopping experience. For example, digital makeup try-on software will be embedded into the platform. The shoppers can also use Miravia via a newly launched iOS app.

Consumers can expect to find both international and local mid and high-range brands in the selection, from large names such as adidas to local brands like Cuétara.

The sellers using the platform will be able to design their own virtual store and implement promotional campaigns, loyalty programs, and other ways to engage with customers. This functionality will be accessible to both small and large brands.

According to Miravia‘s representatives, Spain was chosen for the launch of the platform because of the large customer segment with solid online shopping habits and the potential for further growth in the category.
