Finland – End of the Intrastat import declaration from 2026

The Finnish Government is continually seeking ways to reduce the administrative and compliance costs for businesses operating in the country. Starting from next year, Finland will abolish the obligation for firms to submit Instrastat reporting declarations for arrivals. 

From January 2026, businesses will be required to submit Instrastat declarations for the arrival of goods in Finland. The last arrivals Declaration will cover December 2025.

• The Instrastat export declaration remains in place when the threshold of EUR 800,000 is reached 
• Countries’ Customs authorities will compile import data by extracting the export data submitted by the authorities of Member States from statistical reports of the obliged businesses.

This change will reduce administrative work for businesses that send goods to Finland or receive goods in Finland.
