The “wave” of the Commission’s proposed EU legislative changes is on the continuous rise. The Commission proposed amendments to the EU’s E-Invoicing Regulation in public procurement. The primary goal of the Commission’s proposal is to reduce regulatory fragmentation across Member States regarding B2G e-invoicing rules; define B2G e-invoicing standards with greater clarity; and address shortcomings identified since the adoption of the e-invoicing Directive.
The proposal to revise the E-Invoicing Directive is an expected move, given the ViDA package and, more specifically, the implementation of the B2B cross-border e-invoicing requirements.
The proposed changes are open for public discussion by all interested parties. The call for evidence is open until December 17, 2025.
