Amazon is launching its Amazon Seller Wallet service for EU vendors, which will be available in seven EU Amazon marketplaces. This additional service will enable EU vendors to adopt a more fragmented financial management.
EU Amazon sellers who choose to use the “Wallet” service will have more control over when to convert received funds, as well as when and in what currency to transfer their income to their principal account.
Amazon Seller Wallet has been available for US vendors since 2022; it will now be available for EU vendors across seven marketplaces (stores). The principal users of this service are cross-border sellers who experience many shortcomings in exchange rates, transfer fees, and overall financial management when handling cross-border transactions and allocating receipts.
Seller Central
Vendors can manage their receipts in euros from their EU store and proceeds in dollars from their US-based store. These options are manageable through their USD Seller Waller and EUR Seller Wallet. Merchants can choose one-time transfers or set up automatic transfers following the schedule that mostly aligns with their operational framework.
When merchants set up accounts, funds are transferred to the bank account they choose. One fee applies to international transfers. which “should decrease” with the growth of sales.
Amazon Seller Wallet displays current exchange rates, and this transparency and quick access are of immense help to cross-border merchants. Suppliers can also be paid from the Seller Wallet, meaning US vendors can be paid in dollars, while the same supplier can pay its suppliers in the EU in euros without incurring exchange fees.
